I invite you to join our group as together we watch the sunset and where Zane offers fresh insight for three college girls on summer break.  Where else do people frequently stop what they are doing and watch the sunset? More than likely it’s on an island.

I hope you enjoy Where the Frogs Sing Café. I got a kick out of writing it. I felt privileged that it took me to Hawaii again, and there I found a little grass shack, uh, café, hidden off the highway on a lava encrusted road through tall cane grass.

At Where the Frogs Sing Café you will meet Zane who cooks the best hamburgers ever, and his Butter Mochi is out of this world. You will meet Felicia and her little daughter Sunshine, but the main food of the day is for the soul.

That comes when the group go to the beach to watch the sun go down.

   

 

 

Perhaps you’re read Paulo Coelho's book, The Alchemist, where a shepherd boy begins a quest to find a treasure and something he calls he calls his "Personal legend."

Where Tigers Belch is another quest as a young college student sets off into the jungle to find her purpose and reason of being.  The Spot, she says, will be "Where Tigers Belch."

Chapter 1

 You might think I spent the night quivering in my debris hut, listening for the footfalls of wild animals.

 I did.

 I'm joking. I slept like a relaxed dog with all four paws in the air.

 I was on a mission and wouldn't let a minor inconvenience stop me. Ahead was the goal of my life.

                                                           

 

 

Newsletter # 4 Sunday Kind Hearts Gathered for Peace

 

 

I wonder what my little Peaches is thinking of all this. She's on the other side now. Maybe she is watching over Aloka, the Peace dog. 

 

Long ago I named her Peaches the Pink Party Poodle for Peace, and she chose to start her own blog. I haven't heard much from her lately, I think she has another job. Maybe it's to be happy and to chase lizards--she doesn't catch them though, she says they taste like rotten toes. 

I was so inspired last night by all the people standing out in the cold, supporting the monks, Protesting ICE that I blogged this morning, but became somewhat deflated when I read a ruling by a judge. 

But, those people out in the cold, giving flowers to the monks, giving pats for Aloka, are kind hearts. Their fuses have been lighted.

I honor them.

Newsletter# 3 The Peace Marches On

 

January 31--through snow and 21degree temperature, The Buddhist Monk's Walk for Peace continues, and Aloka rides, reluctantly, in the escort vehicle.

When it began to snow, Aloka was focused and ever attentive. Even in the car he took his job very seriously.

Any writer worth their salt should at least tell people they are writing. Just yesterday I watched a monk explain that if we have a headache, put some salt under our tongue, hold it for a little while then drink a glass of water. He says, the headache will go away in about 5 minutes. The salt will replace the minerals you lost and help shrink the throbbing capillaries in your head.

Beside the point? Yes, but useful.

Check in tomorrow.💓💓💓💓💓Everyone is starving around here. I will get inundated with three dogs, one cat and one husband when I go into the house. 

I can do it. 

Oh yeah, and the chickens need to be enclosed to protect them from night-time stalkers.

Newsletter #2 Chuckles

G' Morning, 

"We danced the whole night through," no we didn't, but we watched a great movie, The Cider House Rules with Michael Caine, Tobey Maguire, and Charlize Theron (1999) Yep I saw it 26 years ago in the theater, now again on TV.

I did fix dinner, chicken soup, and then breakfast this morning. Writing happens between bathroom breaks and food. 

Upon turning on the computer, I stumbled upon this picture. Look at that cuteness! (Sold on Etsy, felted wool, $40.85. EcoBaby Arts, Lviv Ukraine.)

I have no association with EcoBaby  just couldn't resist copying her art. If I had felted that baby I would want 40 bucks for it too. The rub for EcoBaby is she is paying all the fees necessary for shipping it out of her country.

The cuteness of baby mice, yet grown up ones are expensive. One cost us to repair our dishwasher. She chewed through a wire. No electrocution that we could see, but the idea of it sets my teeth on edge. My husband soldered the wire, but we needed a repairman to tell us the problem and locate where it was.
